# RootWright LMS settings overview

All RootWright LMS options live under **RootWright LMS → Settings**, the gear in the top bar, or **Settings** in the sidebar. The overview lists what needs attention and shows the current value of every area.

## Areas

Settings are grouped into seven areas in the left menu.

| Area | Pages | What it controls |
|---|---|---|
| School | Site & pages, Currency & locale, Search & AI visibility | The school name, support email, dashboard logo, currency, and whether course data and llms.txt are published. |
| Learning | Courses & lessons, Quizzes & assessments, Certificates, Today & recall | Who can publish courses, reviews, enrollment, catalogue, file uploads, quiz features and defaults, certificate templates, and the daily recall session. |
| People | Students, Instructors & permissions | Student sign-up and profile visibility, instructor registration, and what instructors can do. |
| Commerce (Pro) | Checkout & stores, Payment gateways, Tax, Access & webhooks | The default store, Stripe and PayPal, tax rates, and access after cancellation or refund. |
| Communication | Emails | Whether course emails are sent, delivery health, and the email templates. |
| Integrations (Pro) | Meetings, CRM, Video & storage, AI | Zoom and Google Meet, FluentCRM, the stream providers, and the AI provider. |
| Advanced | Performance, Privacy & security | Performance options, and how long IP addresses are kept. |

## Overview badges

* **Needs attention** lists items that cost you something right now, such as payment gateways still in test mode.
* **Test mode** badges appear on Stripe and PayPal until you switch to live keys.
* **Delivery** opens the email health screen.

## Cards or menu

Use **Menu** for the left navigation, or **Cards** to see every area as a card on one page.

## Search

Type in **Search settings** or press **/** to jump to a setting.
